Welcome to Central Maine where lakes, ponds, and streams abound. The town of Winthrop alone has 12 lakes and ponds with in it's boundaries. This area has long been a favorite vacation site for fishermen and vacationers alike. China Lake region, a fisherman's paradise, offers an abundance of landlocked salmon and small mouth bass. Rolling hills, picturesque farms, and bustling towns are bountiful in this area. At the heart of South-Central Maine are the twin cities of Lewiston/Auburn. These cities combine cover 100 sq. miles and have been named by Money Magazine as one of the 300 most livable metropolitan areas in the United States. Great shopping and historic sites are just the beginning of attractions found at this crossroad to western and northern destinations. Augusta, Maine's capital city, offers many attractions such as; tours of the governors mansion, the Capital complex, the Maine State Museum, and Fort Western built in 1754. The city of Waterville provides visitors with unique one-of-a-kind shops and boutiques. Along with their many attractions, both Augusta and Waterville are commercial, educational and cultural centers offering concerts, art festivals, galleries, and theater events.
The city of Bangor, "The Queen City" is the heart of Central Maine and commercial hub for people traveling south or north. Bangor is home to a 31 foot statue of Paul Bunyan, author Stephen King, Bass Park, and a host of other interesting attractions and cultural events.
